Stephen
J. Gordin was born in the rural South Carolina and influenced musically
by the folk and country music of the late 1950’s and early
1960’s. Though music was always a part of his life, he didn’t
begin writing songs until he had “acquired the age and life
experiences that made it natural to put my story in verse.”
Family, love, duty, and home--whether there or looking for one--are
some basic themes for his music. But he has also made it a point
to sing for those without a voice whom he has met along his journey
