When Andy Hill and Renee Safier recorded Hurricane of the Heart with producer Marty Rifkin, it was the ninth independent CD release from a duo whose history includes countless awards, songs placed in TV and film, and over 200 shows per year. They have shared the stage with John Mayer, Bruce Hornsby, and Michelle Shocked at various festivals worldwide.
Among their awards are the 2007 LA Music Awards "Americana Group of the Year" and the 2005 International Acoustic Music Awards' "Best Duo/Group,". In 2005, Renee Safier won the Telluride Blues Festival Acoustic Blues Competition, receiving a rousing response from the 10,000-plus festival crowd.
